PHYSICAL FORM
All the dyestuffs can be supplied as powders. In some cases alternative form are available such as granules or flakes or as liquid concentrates consisting of solid dyestuff solutions in aromatic solvents.
SOLVENT SOLUBILITY
The solvent solubility tables list the maximum standing solubilityˇ¦s at normal room temperatures. In most cases it is possible to obtain much higher solubilityˇ¦s although with increasing quantities of insoluble material. These figures are quoted with no guarantee because of the many factors which can affect the solubilityˇ¦s of commercial colors, but they can serve as a useful guide in the choice of a suitable color for a particular solvent. Users are strongly recommended to carry out their own storage and shelf life tests using their own solvent medium.
APPLICATIONS
Rohm & Haas OILSOL dyestuffs are widely used for the following applications: -
OIL AND PETROLEUM PRODUCTS includes petrol, kerosene, lubricating oils and greases, fuel and burning oils. POLISHES AND WAXES including shoe, floor and furniture waxes and emulsions and for candles and soaps. THERMOPLASTIC RESINS including polystyrene and ABS.
THERMOSETTING RESINS including phenol-formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde mounding powders. PYROTECHNICS AND EXPLOSIVES, LACQUERS AND STAINS including staving and solvent based lacquers and wood stains.
